Purchased my 2007 SE V6, king cab, 4x4 about 5 months ago. I purchased this for work, so the truck I bought has some dings and dents but it runs real nice. This truck had 85k on it and I spent $11.700.00 including tax. I brought it home and changed all the fluids, good thing the radiator looked like a milk shake. I put a new radiator in it, by-passed the cooler and flushed the trans fluid (16qts). I thought for sure the trans was toast but I must of caught it in time, it works fine.
I put 20k on this truck in 5 months, I like they way it drives, it is comfortable. That V6 pulls strong up in the mountains and is nice at highway speeds, only turns about 2k rpm @ 70 mph. The gears are 3.13 and gets good mileage with 19 mpg city and 23 mpg highway. I can only imagine what this would run like with the 3.53 gears!
I test drove a few Tacoma's and the Frontier by far is a better riding truck. I'm an old man so I like smooth and quiet. If I had to find something to complain about it would be the CHEAP steering wheel. The rubber was peeling off and it came loose from the core. I just installed a new OEM leather, nice upgrade. Shipped from Amazon oemparts, $112.
I'm happy::smile::
