So I got a letter from Nissan the other day that said I was selected to have my truck's diagnostics and engineering examined so they can use the info. Supposedly Nissan also will pay $50 for these tests. I was wondering if anyone else got this letter. Also what does it entail and how do I get the $50? Do these tests happen at the dealership? I've never received a letter like this form a car company before.

That's very interesting! Never heard of such a thing. I'd phone them to ask a few questions about what they have in mind and how long your truck will be in their hands. Fifty bucks sounds kinda chintzy for the hassle, but I guess it equates to a free tank of fuel.

Yeah I'm going to call on Monday. I don't want my truck screwed with but if they are going to check the tuning and give me $50 and it's done at the dealership, I may be down.

Was the letter from Nissan or from a local dealer? It migh tjust be an enticement to let them check your truck to see if they can find anything that they can make a buck off of. At least it will save yoou the diagnostic fee.
