I've had the same 'gunk' on my '22. I keep my windshield very clean (and the rest of the truck) using dedicated cleaners and a rag, not just hitting the wipers. I felt as though it may have been something that was under the window seal and has kind of melted out onto the glass in the Texas heat. It doesn't just seem like regular dirt to me either. I found a sharp razor broke it up pretty well and letting cleaner soak on it made it easier to clean the remaining.
