I am getting an Xmas bonus and have a few extra $$$ saved. I am trying to figure out what mods I want to spend it on and need some help. I am going to wait for the lift because I dont want to replace new tires yet. The things I want are an air intake, exhaust, head unit with sub and either a new front winch bumper or prerunner with a pair of lights. Just not sure what is work it or not. I know the bumper is pricey and not many make it if any at this time. I am still stuck between the intakes and exhaust systems. I like the banks but I spoke with several 4x4 shops and they stated that the gains arent worth the price. It depends on what I want looks or sound so they told me to just replace the mufflers and use factory pipes until it needs to be replaced. So I am torn. Then comes the intake which is hard because all the gains state about the same and the prices range so much. But looking at the volant I think it is worth a little more because of design for more air flow from a bigger shield and a closed top for less dirt consumption. Please advise with any suggestion. Amount is around $700 available. I just want the most for the money. Right now I am looking at the AFE, replacing the muffler, sub and amp. Thanks.

If you want more horsepower instead of just replacing the muffler have the fab up a y pipe because the factory y pipe is crimpped which will hinder performance. I know a few members of this site have used AFE and said that worked. As for the subs, amps and headunit, that is just preference in what you want, any sound shop can help you out there!!

Not to knock on the Volant but I went with the K&N 77 Series and have no complaints whatsoever. As for head unit I went with a JVC EXAD unit; it's touchscreen and you have the ability to load your own personal pictures (jpeg/bmp) and movies (avi) and use them as a screensaver. There is also a newer unit the has a 3"LCD and memory stick slot directly behind the face....for a price. MP3 and WMA blah blah blah....Needless to say it's a pretty cool unit. Oh and sirius ready. As for the CAI I have noticed an increased throtte response but not better MPG, but I didn't buy this truck for MPG.
I would also look into some PIAA headlight. I haven't recieved mine yet, but I know people who swear that they are the best headlight/fog light/spotlight.

I love my truck...just ask my wife.

Why fab up a Y-pipe? Go with the Banks Monster Exhaust! It is a complete kit from the Y-pipe and back
