Wanting to install new Gentex mirror in '05 Frontier SE. Mirror has temp, fade and compass. Wanting to know if anyone has installed one of these and how easy is it to install?

I installed mine myself. It was pretty straight forward plus you can always refer to The Reverendbiker's site here is the link on his install. The Reverendbiker is a good source of information!

Thanks for the heads up! Already contacted the Rev and he referred to someone who sells the mirror. It should be here in a few days and I will let you know how easy it was.

Well, let me say this, the mirror was a piece of cake to install and I love it, well worth the money and it looks great. Going to Reverend Bikers web site made a huge difference and if anyone wants to purchase one of these I highly recommend the seller that Reverend Biker lists. The installation took about one and a half hours and be careful, the plastic pieces do scratch and bend very easy.

I agree, I went and got the GENK50 and it was really easy to install. I used the site of Rev, but also found both constant and switched 12v in the kick panel. The red is switched but the green next to it is constant...made it a little easier. None the less Rev has a great site.

Couple Questions

Did anyone that installed the mirror happen to notice the instructions have a small diagram that shows the middle pin in the top row but my wire harness came with the middle pin in the bottom row? The 10 pin connector picture on page 5.

Second the instructions say not to install the mirror within 24 inches of a cellular antenna, what about a satellite radio antenna? My factory sat radio antenna is on the windshield about a foot away.

The SAT antenna shouldn't be a problem, they are probably concerned about emissions from the cell antenna, and being as the SAT is recieve only, there are no emissions! Cell phones, on the other hand transmit and recieve! The transmission probably creates a bit of a magnetic field that will mess with the compass reading!
