gear ratio for the XE 2.5L?

I read up on some site that the gear ratio for our trucks are:
2005-2007 King Cab M/T 2.5L
C200
4.083

2005-2007 King Cab A/T 2.5L
C200
3.692

My question is, if I want to to put less stress on the drivetrain with 33's should I go with a larger or smaller gear ratio. Has anyone changed their gear on their truck?

I didn't see anyone actually answer. A bigger gear or more teeth, will spin faster but put less stress. A smaller or less teeth will spin slower and have more stress.

maybe but

shouldve just got a manuel.....
Maybe, but many people have to use their truck for commute as well and traffic here in SO CA is not something I want to do with a clutch.

Non the less here is the answer for us guys that do have the auto trani

First off the rear ends are all dana 44's and the gears that came with the auto use the small carrier so:

If you want to move in to the bigger gears you can get when you need from this place or shop around.
You will need the larger carrier @ $170
plus the spider gear set and pick the gear size you want for $215

I'm looking at the 4.10, 4.27, or 4.56 need to get some engineer numbers on these first though.

heads up the manual trans guys already have the bigger carrier and can just buy a set of spider gears..

hmm well I found this chart and it listed down about half way dana 44 for all models. I see now at another site they may have only used it for the 6cyl SE

Damnit... :(
cool

You should really check out the WHAT AXLE TO I HAVE? Sticky in the Axles subforum..........all the information is already there...and correct
Thanks for that info. Now when I checked mine says CA36
So I get the C200 and 3.69 gear whats the A Auto trans?
I am now looking for the gears from an XE manual at 4.083

Do you know if the carrier bearing that hold these gears for the C200's are the same size? So I could just switch the spider gears?
