Finally got the fluids changed in the tranny and rr of my '01. Used Amsoil 75/90 GL-4 in the standard tranny and 80/90 w/4oz of slip-lock in the posi rr. The tranny is smoother, without a doubt, and the rr, well, gotta wait 'til the roads get a little slippery, this winter, before I'll be able to tell if the posi's workin' right. Ordered is all from Amsoil.com.

twobills, i just changed all my fluids to royalpurple and has made it much smoother. i did not use the sliplock additive you mention i asked the parts guy at nissan and he said it didnt need it but the royalpurple has a additive for limit slip rears.also changed fuel filter what a pain in the but that was. what do you think do i need that additive? its a 2000 4x4. thanks

Tat2, like I stated in my post, I've got to wait till the roads get slippery until I can tell. Amsoil says to add it if chatter occurs. Well, I just added 4 oz. while I was at it. I'd wait and see with the Royal Purple. I'm sure there are a few people hanging around here that will be able to give you a more definate answer on the Royal Purple, as far as a posi rr goes, but I'm guessin' you'll be ok.

yea i belive so i just reread about the max gear RP and it states like amsoil does not need oem additives. im just a worrie wart. :wink:
