ok..i have no clue what they call it but I was wondering if its normal not to have that metal flap type thing that flaps down when you put the fuel nozel in and when done it blocks dirt and ect from going directly into the tank.
The truck i just bought had nothing there..so when i take off the gas cap..all i smelll is gas.

I'm not sure what year yours is but there was a recall that included my 2001. I have not had it fixed yet but I have the same deal going on. The flap is there on mine though, it's just stuck way open and won't flap back down. If you have an 01'-04 call your stealer and see if the recall applies to your vehicle.
