Blasphemy! If only it were a bolt in swap.. Stroker kit? Cmon. 60 is pretty steep.... NOT!
the hr motors would be bolt in but if your just going to stroke the 3.5 up then you might as well just do internal work on your stock motor since its the same as an hr only stroked with lower compression. and save yourself the cost of shipping the motor if you bought one. also our intakes and tuning is set up to give more low end tq and if you wanted to keep that tq which you'll need in a 4.5k lb truck the stock tune would be an easy start point for someone to start from when tuning. go with an hr and you'll get higher hp lower tq and need to rearrange the engine bay for dual intakes. if anything they would be good motors to buy up and sell for more. i'm sure plenty of people would pay $500 or more for a low mileage motor that burns some oil. my .02Blasphemy! Lmao. Thats a bunch of regurgitation. What I meant is.. for $60 I'd buy one to use as a X-mas tree holder. I did all the research back when I first purchased my truck in '06. Old news. And actually, my base tune came from a 350z!the hr motors would be bolt in but if your just going to stroke the 3.5 up then you might as well just do internal work on your stock motor since its the same as an hr only stroked with lower compression. and save yourself the cost of shipping the motor if you bought one. also our intakes and tuning is set up to give more low end tq and if you wanted to keep that tq which you'll need in a 4.5k lb truck the stock tune would be an easy start point for someone to start from when tuning. go with an hr and you'll get higher hp lower tq and need to rearrange the engine bay for dual intakes. if anything they would be good motors to buy up and sell for more. i'm sure plenty of people would pay $500 or more for a low mileage motor that burns some oil. my .02

i had a blown up 03 vq35 that me and a buddy were thinking about putting in his datsun 240z then i found a guy that wanted the motor before i got around to rebuilding it but that would have been a cool old school new school nissan build. now that you mention that it reminded me he's still looking for something to throw in that thing, my have to drop him an emailThrow one in a 1200lb sand rail good to go, you need to think out side the box. How about inside a little standard cab hard body, or hanging off a Mendeola hanging out the back of a bug.
I think all the early VQ's drank excess oil, my wife's does in the 04 quest, about a quart every 2500. Nothing has seemed to stem the flow, especially since going over to some lucas mixed 20/80 with the oil changes.oh and with oil consumption as the problem they will be the 06 year rev up DE motors. they were the year vq35 with the problem
the oil consumption they are speaking of in the g35 was 06 specific to it and the z. a quart of oil every 2500 isn't considered excessive really these days. ever owned a honda. the oil consumption problem with the z/g vq35 (which has differences from the ones used in other nissans) was about a quart or more every 1000 miles and many people in the 1 quart to every 500miles and was 06 specific to the rev up motors (also some 05.5 motors) the 03-05.5 g/z did not have this problem epidemic, only few isolated cases. heres the tsb for it RevUp Oil Consumption TSB and discussion - MY350Z.COM Forums thats why they are pretty much giving the motors away.I think all the early VQ's drank excess oil, my wife's does in the 04 quest, about a quart every 2500.
