FYI on parts fit for 2010

Hey to all,

Just wanted to give my fellow 2010 Nissan Frontier owners a heads up:

I just got back from the dealer & had them TRY to install my Garmin 765T in the factory housing & they couldnt !

The housing i ordered from from MYNISSANPARTS.COM ($106 + S&H) said it would fit my '10 but apparently Nissan changed the housing for the '10 model year!

I AM IN NO WAY trying to slam that website/company but doing this a favor to anyone who purchases part that say they will fit the 2010's that not everything will !

Hope that this helps at least 1 fellow Frontier owner

Thanks

Bummer!

But there are different part numbers for the XE/SE and the LE's. I used the same part number listed in the thread about installing these in my 2010.
when i ordered the housing (& just looked now too) they list it as fitting my Pro-4x - cross checked my order to make sure i ordered the right one!

tried calling them & their internet sales department was out today - hope they live up to their return policy !

fortunately the dealer i bought it off of used to be a Dodge dealer where i bought my Charger & they are going to match the other price & not charge me for installation for a second time !
... works fine for my 2010 se. no problems, perfect finish. the integrated speakers don't work w. the 765t, but i don't really need them.
maybe you just ordered the wrong part (w/o the integr. speakers)
i HAVE checked my order & DID order the one for Pro-4X !

as far as the integrated speakers - are you telling me that there will not be any audio directions ? sorta defeats the purpose of a nav system if thats true :comphead:
A little off topic but does anyone know if a 06 grille will fit on a 10? I think there different but i want to make sure, I found a good deal on a grille i want to buy and paint the chrome to match my truck color.

No. 09+ grills are different. But you can send me a link to that grill. :D
not sure if its a good idea or not - looking for opinions to make this a sticky (or not) to help new Nissan owners (like myself) with their trucks !

any input would be great !
The navigation housing part no. 999q5-kv001 (w. integrated speakers, graphite) fits perfectly for 2010 Nissan Frontiers.
I doubt, the Pro 4x version has a different dash than the SE or LE.

No, the integrated speakers won't work for other Garmin 7xx units. Only with the Nissan Garmin unit. Very strange. May be there's a workaround... I don't know.
But the integrated speakers of my 765t are pretty loud and even making phonecalls via BT works perfectly.
I first thought this was a dealbreaker, too. But it is not.

You've got the pro4x w. tech package.... connect it to your line in. That's much better.
hey doc

sorry if i seem stupid but i only had 2 nav systems before & both were in dash mounts !

IF I FOLLOW CORRECTLY, the system will not go through the stereo but i can still get verbal directions through the unit itself ?

thanks !
If you are using this flip up navi mount (w. the integrated speakers) with another unit than the stock Garmin/Nissan unit, you will have no audio through the integrated speakers of the flip up mount.

But you will still have the audio coming out of the garmin unit itself.

It should not be a big problem to identify the audio wires from the flip up mount and splice them in to your radio's aux in wiring ...

But I think that is not necessary.

Just so others are clear on this, if you have a SE the part number will be 999q5-ku001. The mount with the integrated speakers with not fit the SE. Its about 1/4 too long. Don't ask me how I know:comphead:
"The mount with the integrated speakers with not fit the SE"??
1/4 too long? Sorry, that can't be right.
You either had the wrong part, or something else went wrong.

It's a perfect fit. 999q5-kv001. GPS mount w. integrated speakers. 2010 Frontier.

The part number you are talking about (999q5-ku001) is for pre-2009 Frontiers.

"...As you may already know,999Q5-KV001 for 2009, 999Q5-KU001 for before..."
There must be a different dash in the SE 4cylinders. Because the 999Q5-KV001 would not fit. Even the dealer tried to put it in. The texture was also different than my dash. The 999Q5-Ku001 matched perfectly and went right in.
So, it seems like the XE 4cyl have a different dash than the 6cyl .SE, LE and Pro4x
Mine is also an SE just the 4 cylinder version. After ordering this truck and trying to get some of the things on it I wanted and counld not this does not surpise me. I'm sure there is a reson for it production wise, but it sure seemed like Nissan made it hard on themselves. I wanted the same SE you bought but with a 4 cylinder. Oh well!! I am still very happy with my truck
can you make a photo of you 4cyl SE dash, please? I'll make one of my 6cyl SE, too
floor mats

Another item that doesn't fit as before is, the 2009 and 2010 floor mats, the drivers mat now has two attachment hook holes and the passenger side has one where prior to 2009 had none.

If you want it to go through the stereo, I believe all of the 7xx series have FM modulators in them. I dont care for it much -- underpowered and crackly at times -- and plus, you cant listen to anything else if you send the GPS audio to the FM.

The internal speaker on the 755t (at least mine) is PLENTY loud enough on its own in the Nissan housing -- I usually keep it around 40% while I have the radio on listening to music and sometimes thats too loud.
