I have a 2008 LE with a hole in the rubber hose section of the fuel feed line in the engine compartment. It's item 13 in the below diagram. I plan to check with the dealer tomorrow, but I'm wondering if they will sell the complete assembly (from fuel pump to QD at the fuel injector rail) or they can just sell the hose section. Without another QD in the engine compartment where the hose connects to hard tubing on the upstream side it looks like a pain to change the whole thing. And neither the FSM or Haynes manual describe the procedure.

Can I just change the hose section with generic fuel hose? The existing hose is formed in a specific shape, but I'd think just plain hose can work. It looks like the hose just pushes over the tubing, which is flared. There are no hose clamps on either end. Am I missing something or is it that simple? Does anyone know the hose ID?

Where's the diagram?? One thing I can tell you is that if you do use "generic fuel hose," you need to make sure it's not regular fuel hose but "fuel injection hose" with fuel injection clamps. Fuel pressure is 50 psi and too much for regular fuel hose. It'll probably be 8MM (5/16"). Do you see the part in the attached diagrams I provided?

Sorry, forgot to post the diagram. Looks like 16440N in your image. Are there guidelines anywhere on changing it? I can disconnect it from the injection manifold easy enough, but I haven't taken a real close look yet at the other end.

I ended up buying the complete assembly from the dealer for $95. It comes with the feed line and what I assume is a return line as well as the mounting brackets/ support clamps. It looks like just a few screws to remove (as well as disconnecting the two lines). Hopefully there's decent access and this is a quick job (a cursory look has me a bit worried the brake booster may be in the way of removing one of the mounting bracket screws).

I am assuming you have a fuel injection quick disconnect release tool.

I know I used to. Haven't used it in 10+ years. I remember I saw it about a year ago and wondered as a quickly passing thought what it was for (this probem reminded me). Hopefully I still have it.

I just remember when you remove the manifold intake(13) you need to release the fuel pressure.

I'll go through the process just to make sure, but it seems like the fact I have a hole in the feed line would mean it's relieved. Where can it be trapped?

There is no return line on our systems. The fuel demand is controlled by the ECU.

What's the line that runs along with the feed line?

Pretty simple job if I could get the QD off the injector rail. I couldn't find my tool (the type shown in first photo).
Auto store only had the plastic angled fuel line hose tools (second photo). That thing was a piece of junk. I just couldn't make it work. It did say it was for Ford, GM, and many imports, so maybe it just wasn't right for Nissan, but really that angle doesn't really help at all. Makes things more difficult IMO. I'll try to find a better one tomorrow. Otherwise removing the wheel and wheel well shield gave good access to all the studs/ nuts and connections.

Now I see why the regular ones won't work. Got a better view and was able to see there's a "flange" or "ridge" below the QD that prevents the standard type tools from getting into the QD. Looks like that tool is 1) much thinner and 2) tapered at the end so I guess it can clear the flange and still get in under the QD. Couldn't find it at the auto stores, so I guess it's Amazon for me too. What a pain. Guess I'll keep avoiding driving behind smokers for another couple days.

Got it for $13 on Amazon prime. I'd gladly pay an extra ten to have it in my hands now - fuel cost is much worse.
