The hose is bonded to the steel fuel line and not just slipped over the flange. You can always use AN fittings for that short section.

Like I mentioned, I changed everything over to AN fittings.
I just remember when you remove the manifold intake(13) you need to release the fuel pressure.
You can barely see the intake line but for the life of me, I can't remember the stock setup.

There is no return line on our systems. The fuel demand is controlled by the ECU.
Because of of my fuel cell I had to fabricate a return line.

I am assuming you have a fuel injection quick disconnect release tool.

The line that runs with the fuel line could be a line for the evaporative emissions system's canister purge line. If you live near an Autozone, they'll probably have a fuel line disconnect tool or kit in their tool loaner problem. I own one like pictured below. You need one with a low profile to get the one on the fuel rail.
I think your right. Even though I removed the canister I still connected the line.
I have a few disconnect tools but the smj photo will work. I have the same one.
