I had my fuel sending unit recall done...twice now and now it needs it the third time!!!!! WTF!!!!! anybody else experiencing this or anything similar???
No sir, I had mine replaced once and it's been good since. It might have something to do with those ugly Steelers stickers that keep breaking it.:nana:

On mine, the fuel gauge was all over the place, and then finally it got stuck at 1/4 tank when I had just filled up. So I ran that tank about 240 miles and then took it in to get fixed.

You'll go fill the tank and the needle will stay at the bottom or take many miles to go to the top. You'll know when it happens.

i had the recall done, the first started doing the same as described above, took it back for the second fsu, and 1-2 weeks later, the same happened again.

Fill it up and fuel guage will show E, it might climb to where the fuel level actually is w/in 2-3 days, then start the truck again and its back on E, or 1/2, or 1/4, or where even it feels like being at that particcular moment in time. Kinda frustrating i guess but i'm too laid back to care. and the dealer treats me well!!!

yeah, this was stupid easy to do with regular hand tools (except that one bolt...) and an extra set of hands. i bet if we had to do it again, we could knock it out in 20-30 mins max.

mine is working great since saturday now.

That Didn't Last Very Long

Replaced my FSU last July in my 05 Nismo. Well here it is 13 months later and the check engine light comes on and low and behold, FSU code. But the gauge is still acting normal, at least as far as I can tell.

Same thing here. FSU replaced twice since June. Slow to show fuel (hours for needle to climb) when I fill up, then gets erractic, dropping to E and up, and down, once I get at about 1/2 a tank. The Nissan tech at my dealer now thinks it is the wiring and fuel guage in the dash (he said the first FSU was bad, even though the problem is the same since the 2nd FSU was installed). I told him it all worked fine until the recall was complete. I am at a loss. They think the FSU is good. The unit I had installed last summer before the recall worked better (but it was destined to go bad after about 40,000). I am at a loss.

I had mine repalced last Tuesday under the recall because it would take hours of driving to actually read the correct amount of fuel. Then yesterday I go to get in it and the needle is all the way on E and the dummy light is on. So I take it to the gas station and fill it up and it only holds 13 gallons. The hand doesn't move at all and the light is still on. I drove it to Knoxville yesterday (360 miles round trip) and it doesn't move at all. When I got to Knoxville the SES light popped on. So I drove it home with no issues and I was on my way to Advance this morning to get the code read and the damn thing went off but the fuel gauge is still on E. Seems to me like the whole fuel system on these things is f**ked!
