OK i ran trough a quick search and didn't really find an answer to my question.

I looked up the bulb size for a 2009 frontier front turn signal and got a 3457. Now I tried to buy the silver stars and tried to buy led from a company and everybody says "Oh yeah that is a 3157". I try it and it never worked, it doesn't fit. Even when the package says 3157/3457. The bulb size has to be a 3457 I guess these companies say generic 3*57 parts are all the same. Anyone replaced this bulb with LED alternatives and if you did which company?

I got nothin' Even the V-leds site shows that they are supposed to be interchangeable. I was under the impression the base size was the same. can you describe exactly how it's not fitting?

Yea the base won't lock into the connection. It just falls out. I am surprised no one has changed this bulb out yet...

I just looked at my user manual. Mine says 3156AK. I know that's not quite the same as a 3157/3457. That might be your problem? Mine's a 2010 they must have changed it. Can you compare the bulb you took out with what you are trying to put in? Maybe you can see a difference in the bases?

Also, how were you planning on fixing the fast blinking once you installed the LED turnsignals? I'd love to put these in:

5K TYPE 2 DUAL COLOR CHANGING WHITE AMBER SWITCHBACK 60 TURN SIGNAL BULBS 3157 3157NA 3357 3457 4157 4057 | 1 PAIR

They change from yellow blinking to white when the blinker is not on.

edit 7/28/12: these are T20NA NOT 3156...those are the rear sorry!

I nvr looked in the owner's manual I looked at sylivania website. But the bulb was definitely not designed for my truck's socket. I wish I keep the bulbs but I think i returned them.

As for the blinking you can buy a load resistor that solves that problem. Just search for blinking led solution, tons of responses.

Try a 7443 bulb. It seems to be one that should work. T20 (which is what the bulb is listed as HERE. Ran a cross-reference check on a T-20, and it gives a lot of bulbs that are supposedly compatible, but 7443 appears to be a slightly different base than the 3157/3457.

3156AK is for the rear if you look at the manual again.
I stand corrected...sorry. T20NA

I never swapped mine because the OP was having issues. I stand corrected as above: the front turns are T20NA. I'm not sure, but apparently that's similiar/same as 744x? I can tell you the rear brakes are CK. I have a hunch the front turns are also CK, but never pulled the bulb to look at the socket to confirm. I've swapped just about everything exterior to LED, but not my turns.
