did the normal oil change today and decided to do the front diff, I got an extreme amount of metal build up on the drain plug. SHould i be worried. I only have 21k miles.

Were they chunks or just shavings?

If you are really paranoid, then pull the covers and give it a look. Just make sure you have new fluid (or a clean bucket to catch the old/new fluid to be re-used) and RTV to make a new gasket.

shavings will happen, chunks are pretty bad.
depends on how hard you are on it.

pulling the cover is a project, but if indeed you are really worried its the only way.
