Thought I'd share this with you guys. Since my truck is at the dealership getting serviced I asked the mechanic why my truck didn't come with the cam bolts. He then told me since my truck (08 with about 20k miles) is still covered under the warranty he'll install the bolts for free. Both parts and labor covered, I do however have to pay for the alignment though.

Sorry to hijack but i have a question about these cam bolts. I know they are used to help correct alingment, but if the ailignment isn't out is it worth having the dealer put them in. I've got am 09 cc that seems fine. Have the dealer checking on the other suspension recall now. They had to have the service manager do it as it's a U.S. VIN here in canada and he is the only one that can run the VIN. So I may be going in anyway.

The general rule with the cam bolts are that if they are unable to align your truck into spec without them, they must be added. If you are within the 3yr36k limit, they are free. After that they are going to try and charge you.

cam bolts are only required when you are unable to align the truck properly or if you specifically want to push the LCA ball joint forward. Anything past that they are a waste.

I have a 2" spacers put on mine about a month ago. Took it to goodyear for a free alignment check and sure enough camber n caster were out of specs. They quoted me $369 for parts, labor, and alignment. I said give me my keys and drove away. I just recently bought CST spindles from a member here and now they're just laying on the floor since my truck still at the dealership. So I'm gonna need those cam/ caster bolts anyway. I know it's kinda a waste to have my truck align after they install the bolts but hey for $60 they quote me for alignment, I look at it as if I buy those bolts n got em install for free.
