Hi all,
I took of my skid plate to investigate an oil drip and found a bolt head resting there. It is a 20mm head with a diameter of roughly my pinky finger, so I assume it holds something pretty substantial. I spent nearly an hour with a flashlight looking for the severed connection between the radiator and drain pan where the plate sits and couldn't find anything. I last changed my oil 3 months ago so it has been there that long at most. I brought it into work and my coworker (former mechanic) says it appears it was cut with a hack saw at 4 different angles and then snapped off. BUT- it has the same "b" mark on it that other bolts in the engine has. Is that a common bolt mark? Could this have hopped up from the road into my skid plate? The only time it's been in a shop recently was for safety & emissions 2 weeks ago. I haven't had any noises, bumps, squeaks, etc. that would warrant checking into. I want to hear your thoughts before I pay the dealer $800 to investigate. Pictures attached.

I highly doubt it's from your truck, if it was it would be from a break not a hacksaw. That is an old weathered bolt.
