I noticed an ad on CL for a fab shop in Puyallup, Wa. called Perkins Performance.
Update;
After my experience. I cannot reccommend this company.
I was originally going to have Perkins Performance build all my bumpers for the front and rear, and also some sliders.
He has positive reviews on several other forums, seems like a nice guy, and does do quality work.
But a few months ago, I had a some negative experiences dealing with Jason at Perkins Performance in Puyallup.
It first started about a year ago, when I scheduled to have some sliders built. He first said that he could make them however I wanted.
When it came down to actually having them made, he told me that he could only do one type of radius bend in the outer tube of the sliders. Which I didn't like, so I passed on having them done.
Later he would contradict himself and tell me that he could always do a variety of different bends, depending on if he had the die.
Then Perkins was going to measure up another forum members truck, and to start making frontier bumpers.
That member was going to have Perkins build them a front, and maybe a rear bumper, for his frontier. With other frontier owners following suit.
He left his truck at their shop for something like 1 or 2 weeks to have it measured up, so Jason could come up with a design, for frontiers.
He never even started on the project, or took any measurements.
So I scored a Schrock front bumper off cl instead, and made a deal with Perkins to have the bumper pull points modified in a simple but specific way.
I dropped it off, and was told it would be finished 2 weeks.
So on Friday of the 2nd week, expecting for it to be ready to pick up, I called to find out what the deal was.
At that point, all he had done was to measure the peices that needed to be made.
In addition to that, he had decided to change the design from what we agreed on, and hadn't even bothered to let me know about the change in design or time frame for it to be finished.
I told him that was not the way I wanted it done, and that was not what we had agreed on.
He argued that it was a better way to do it.
And that the way we agreed on was going to cost more than he quoted me, and also take longer due to the material cost, and having to order in the material.
So I offered to pay the additonal cost for the material to do it how I wanted it.
He was unwilling to do it how I originally wanted it, and how we agreed it was to be done.
So I cancelled the job, and picked up my bumper, as I refuse to do buisness with people who BS me, no matter how good their work, or reviews are.
Bottom line is this, when you agree to do something, then do it!
Whether it is a cost, an amount of time, or specific details of a job.
