A couple months ago I saw a thread that covered a "jump" cable to rewire the fog lights so that they cam come on either independently or with the parking lights. It this mod safe? Does anybody here have it long tem and How the heck is it done?

i used this on my truck with no problems until i got into an accident and had to send thet ruck to a body shop. since i got it back i have been blowing the same fuse over and over so i decided to take it out. i will probably re-do the tap as some of the members have done and see how that goes

thats my right up and i have been running it since a couple of weeks before that post and have had 0 problems. the fog lights will come on with your parking lights(which is what i wanted) and stay on with both low and high beams. one thing though, the fuse tap is in backwards. i forgot to update with a new pic so just turn the tap around from the way it is in the pic and you should be GTG.

Thanks for the response. Now that I have read the whole post... Im thinking its not what I want. I am not crazy about the idea of not being able to turn off the fog lights at the switch. I want to turn them on seperate of the lights... but also want more control.. but thanks anyway.

you can run them off a switch, just not the factory one(unless you can hunt down a factory parhfinder fog switch). you can easily run a wire from a switch to the fog light fuse spot and control it that way.
