Anyone ever have a flickering oil light? Mine started flickering today as I pulled into my garage. The oil level is spot on.

what did your gauge look like when it was flickering (i assume you mean the oil light, not the gauge itself?). i would also start with the OSU

I never looked at the gauge since I was already parked in the garage. I just shut it down.

After I drove it on Friday I noticed the gauge would drop when the engine was idling. When the gauge went between the two lines at the bottom, the oil light lit up or flickered. I replaced the pressure sensor today. I have not tested it thoroughly yet but I hope that solves the problem. I ended up paying full price for the switch but that's cool.

The switch did not fix the problem nor did changing the oil filter. It only does it at idle once it's at operating temperature. I took it to the dealer to have them look into it. I'm thinking the oil pump might be failing.

Thanks. I'm not that concerned because I believe they will find and fix the problem. Hopefully they will let my favorite Nissan Tech check it for me.sorry to hear

keep us updated. since they will have to tear the engine down pretty far, considering replacing the timing chain at all while they have it off?

I will ask them once I find out what they know. I would hope they'd replace them if they show a lot of wear.

I found out that my engine oil pump was failing. Will be replaced under warranty. It's a good thing I wasn't on a long road trip. It seemed to work fine while driving but did not pump enough oil during idle.

Under the 5yr/60k powertrain? Or extended warranty?

5 year/60,000 miles. It only has 44,9XX miles on it.

not really, its not too common and if your werent in warranty I would have said to switch to say a 10w-40. We have this issue on some Jaguars with VVT operation. But I just do a switch from 5w-30 to 20w-50. Works to fix that issue every time and basiclly is free next time oil is changed
