Hello,

I just bought a 2004 Nissan Frontier v6 4*4 3.3liter truck. It has about 100,000 miles on it and i have been on a marathon of fixing what is wrong with the truck. I live on the small island of Saipan, MP and looking for some outside advice.

The automatic transmission seems to be acting up. It shifts hard into 2nd and when I hit about 35-40mph the engine can't decide what gear it wants to be in, randomly down shifting even on flat ground. Is this a problem with the solenoid or the computer?

Also I have been working on the front suspension changing the shocks and the idler arm. It still seems loose and bottoms out even when going over a speed bump at low speed.

Advice?

Have you checked the auto tranny fluid level?

I have changed the fluid and filter, also put some trans tune in to see if that would stop the jerk from 1st to 2nd. It helped but did not solve the problem. The main thing I am concerned about is that the truck changes gears randomly when going 35-40 mph.
