For the past several months I’ve been using a Park & Ride lot and other drivers seem intent on encroaching into my space, even when I go way out. This gadget should help avoid bumper damage if (when) I get tapped. It is supposed to crush rather than transfer the impact so I guess it’s a one-time-only use item, sort of a sacrificial bumper. Plus, it’s useful as a step.

Oh, and regarding the backup sensors - they are not activated by this thing and continue to work as normal. That was a pleasant surprise - I thought I would have to rely strictly on the camera.
