Ok, I am keeping track of my last 4 fillups. I want to see if my mods and my changing my driving habits have been giving my some better MPGs. The problem is I do not know how to figure out the MPGs with this information. I have a table in excel with the following,

Current Milage at fillup
Gallons filled
Distance till empty (before I filledup)
Distance till empty (after I filled up, what it says I have)
Current MPG the computer says at fillup

How do I go about calculating my MPG? Thanks.

1. Fill up tank & reset trip odometer

2. Drive, as usual

3. Return to gas station, fill up tank again

4. Record gallons filled as displayed on the pump

5. Check trip odometer mileage

6. Divide mileage into gallons pumped

7. Tada! MPG.

1)Fill up your tank.
2)Reset your trip computer.
3)Drive around to empty the tank.
4)Record mileage on trip computer.
5)Fill up tank and record the amount of gas you put in. (If you want to get really accurate just fill up until pump clicks off)
6)Divide the number of miles on the trip computer by the number of gas you put in.

Example: If you put in 20 gallons and you drove 300 miles your truck would be averaging 15 MPG. 300 divided by 20 = 15

I've done this a couple times and found that the milage computer on the truck is pretty close so I quit doing the math. 8)
