Congrats. Those new colorados are pretty sweet. I wanted a diesel model, but they were too new to have any discounts and $40k+ for a midsizer was bonkers.

You had a sweet color on your frontier.

Congrats!

I traded my bought new 06 Crew in for a 16 Colorado Z71 Ext Cab.
I find there are days when I miss my Frontier, and there are days I'm happy with the Z71. Getting used to the 6 speed shifting is tough- it does not like to downshift. You have the 8 speed though?

The Wrangler Authority Kevlars were on my list of "get rid of"! I found they always rode hard and got progressively harder and squirrelly to the point at 25K they were so hard- I was bouncing and shaking on some expansion joints.

I love the mileage of the Colorado- I got at least a 4 MPG increase.

My son just moved home- and brought with him a 2013 Pro-4x in bright blue. When I feel the need for some Frontier love- I can drive it.

I find that the more I drive the Colorado- the more I want the closer, tighter cabin and layout of the Frontier. After a bit more than a year- I am still mixed up in orientation of wipers and other controls.

I was a bit hard pressed to ditch my Frontier at the time- the Core Support and much of the hardware and associated connecting pieces were swiss cheese. My front end was making horrible noises. I was told at least $2K to repair just that, and I know it needed a lot of other work as well- but it was mine and paid for. Long Bed Crews were real tough to find, and actually all I could find here then were SV Crews- without the VTP. My front end noise stopped for a couple of days- I had it appraised and bought the Colorado.

Good luck with your new ride. I looked at the Colorado/Canyon trucks when they first came out (2015? or so). The ones I saw the fit and finish was not good and the prices were astronomical. So I bought my 2015 SL. Very happy. The GM models do seem to have improved since introduction so I hope you do well!

I also took a look at the Colorado and Tacoma when shopping for a truck. The sticker shock is what helped sway me to the Fronty. It had everything I wanted ( 4x4 KC SV w/option pkg) for close to $7k less than other trucks. The Chevy was a nice truck
Hey, at least we are all pick up lovers!

Congrats. I am a GM guy and just couldn't bring myself to pay $8k more for a comparably equipped vehicle. Not sure I like direct injection engines until they get the carbon buildup figured out.

But how bad is the carbon build-up? I have a diesel with 420k on it and I have never needed to clean my intake or EGR valve - the right design deletes build-up.
