I have a 2000 crew cab SE 2wd Fronty and am wondering if anyone knows where i can get the factory crew cab roof rack for a decent price? For whatever reason the people who originally purchased the truck didnt get a roof rack

You can usually find a used one on ebay.

Also I have heard that if your truck did not come with a roof rack then it also does not come with the bolt supports too. Meaning you need to add some beefed up metal and some bolt supports of the rack.

Would that mean i have to tear off the roof or add it to the top of the roof?

Also, can anyone also confirm this?

I was scouring these forums a couple of months ago and I did see a step-by-step guide someone wrote up on how to install the roof rack. I don't remember where I saw it...

i do not believe this to be true, i put a roof rack on my KC and the bolts go right next to where the cab corners (braced diagonally) are allowing the top not to flex

I put a 2nd gen roof rack on my 1st gen KC, I bought the brackets for the second gen and used those for the "supports" I have not issues with it. It is strong, and I placed the brackets over the cross supports that are there.

did u have any problems with the fit of the curve part of the roof and the curve part of the rack? and how was the install process. thanks alot looking to do the same thing. if it not to much of a trouble can u upload a few pictures thanks
