Anyone have a RTT on the factory roof rack? I think the factory roof rack is rated to 250lbs? Anyone know if a RTT can be mounted on and then used on the factory roof racks?

Cut and pasted from the 2012 owners manual:
Always evenly distribute the cargo on the tubular
roof rack.
The maximum total load is 125 lb
(56 kg) evenly distributed

I read that in there. Was wondering if anyone on here was using it as such. Kind of a bummer it cant take more weight.
This forum member "DragonX" mounted a roof top tent to his factory roof rack.
Here is a link to his build thread, Scroll a little before halfway down on page 1

But then it looks like he installed a bed rack and put his RTT on that.

My guess is that the low weight rating is due to the flimsy(ish) cross bars and not actually the side bars mounted to the roof. In other words figure out how to get the weight on the side rails, not the cross rails.
I would buy or build a rack for the bed to put it on. That would be my preference.

That's a possible theory. I wasnt aware of how strong the side rails are.

I would but they are hard to find for sale and I'm unable to find a shop that can fabricate one for me in my area.

And here I thought that I could put 250lbs up there - I probably just had 175lbs up there with a rack and gas.
