I have searched but haven't found anything on here regarding these UCAs hopfully somebody has some experience with them.
I've been searching for some UCAs for my 06 frontier and just came across what appears to be a deal on some new tubular UCAs from Protune. These appear to be knock of (or maybe re-branded) Total Chaos UCAs with a heim joint. for 299 these are probably worth trying right?

Anybody have any experience with these?

Copy/clone, not rebranded. Some members have good results using cloned TC UCAs after replacing the pivot balls. If these work out, then good. If not, well you know what you paid for.

I have a set. They appear very well made. The uniball does not seem bad; even on my total chaos arms they wore out in a few years so that's no big deal. I like that these come with a cap/dust cover.

These are known as the "ebay UCA". Google that term and I am sure you will find more. They also make a Titan version. I researched them quite a bit and was close to buying but found some TC arms used instead.

From what I discovered these are exact copy/clones of the TC arms. The uni ball and mounting hardware was the issue. The rubber bushing was said to hold up ok. The uniball would only last couple of 100 miles. The misalignment hardware was aluminum instead of steel. This info is from post and not first hand.

PRG made an upgrade kit for $150.

The cost of the arms + the upgrade kit will still be WAY cheaper than the TC arms.

So, $300 for the arms, $150 to add the better uniballs. For another $50 you have a set of SPC's that have a legit ball joint that won't wear out quickly.

That’s exactly what I was thinking and seeing that nisstec does discount codes for every holiday thanksgiving maybe the perfect opportunity to grab some SPCs

The thing that I like about the TC/Ebay clones is the fact that it has a drop stop bump. Maybe it is cause I am old school. But for some reason I do not trust the shock internal bump stop.

This is from topping out. Sure it was over sprung but...
Haha, thanks. :)
That wheel came off a large rock a little too fast, which I'm thinking topped out/overextended the shock at speed.

The uniballs can be bought for about $90, and if you're putting them on new the snap rings should be fine. As far as how good the ones it comes with are, that partly depends on what you're doing. If you're putting a lot of strain on them, they'll wear out faster (as will any). I'll post back when mine wear out from regular commute driving. I drive about 300 miles a week just back and forth to work and check for excessive play about every week just out of curiosity.

Alright I've had mine on for almost one year and 14,000 miles and have finally had a failure, not in the uniballs but one of the misalignment spacers. The spacers that go into the uniballs are fine but one of the spacers that goes down into the spindle (#11 on the diagram) basically crumbled away. It was separated into paper thin flakes that I pulled out of the hole, very odd. The driver side is fine but I'm rebuilding both sides anyways since I have the truck torn apart to do a bunch of other front end stuff too. Both bump stops also fell off as well. Everything else still looks good. I don't rock crawl or anything but it doesn't just stay in pavement either. We have a farm and just our driveway alone is up a hill and has water flow ravines and holes eroded into it. The suspension definitely gets cycled well just leaving and returning home lol.
