hey guys i was looking at either buying the doug thourley cat back exhaust, or buying the 50 series flowmaster with the magnaflow y pipe. just looking for a nice growl to go with the volant intake. thanks

I have the 50 series with a custom system with true duals, deleted y pipe, with a dump in the factory location behind passenger side rear wheel.

I get a nice growl when giving it gas accelerating, but otherwise its quite a soft pur that isn't obtrusive or anything.

i just dont want anything to ricey its a truck not a stupid civic that sounds like a go kart.

Mine sounds like neither. Its the best it can get in my opinion because its hard to get a true throaty sound of a v8 on a v6.

Have you checked out the sticky thread on exhausts? I think you can find audio clips of both.

I'll vouch for the DT. It doesn't sound ricey at all and was a piece of cake to install. The hardest part was getting the old nuts off where the y-pipe meets the cats. If you do it yourself I would recommend replacing those with some beefier nuts because the stock ones suck.

ya i have checked the thread. but in the end i rather go with a cat back exhaust. plus i like the idea of being able to install on my own... thanks everyone who replied.
