exhaust on a 3.3

just wondering what exhaust yall have on your 3.3l v6 trucks.

i want to get a better sounding unit. somthing that sounds tougher, meaner, beefy lol

ive heard that just a magnaflow muffer would do the trick but im not convinced. ive also seen someone do a duel cherry bomb after the y pipe going into a magnaflow.

im also unsure about this y pipe. what is it and why does everyone hate it?

just looking for ideas, sound clips, any info on bettering the sound for my exhaust.

thanks

I have a Magnaflo cat back, Stillen Vortex throttle body spacer, and k&n cold air intake. I love the way my 2002 sounds, especially in the 2500 to 4000 rpm.
No sound clip, You don't hear a thing at idle, no ricey sound, pretty deep for a six. Don't get me wrong, it does not sound like v8 big block by any means. It did sound better after I added the cold air intake from K & N, than it did before, but my fuel mileage is excellent! My 2002 was advertised at 15 city and 17 highway, I consistently get 18 around town, and 20 plus on the highway, one trip because of a detour, drove at about 55 and 60, almost got 22 on that stretch. Definitely has a more torquey feel to it, my only regret is not doing it sooner.
When I installed my exhaust, ran into a snag and ran just like you for 2 days. Thought about just running a straight pipe out. I have often wondered what a straight pipe out of my dual cats, into a real x pipe, and then coming out the sides with no muffler would sound like.
What is the purpose of the x-pipe?
My understanding is that the X pipe balances exhaust pressure, that allows the exhaust to flow better, it also balances the sound.
