Hi guys, i just bought a navara d22 turbodiesel 3.0L and ive been reading all over the forum that upgrading the exhaust is a must do mod on the frontier.

i already added a catch can and blocked the EGR and disabled(unplugged actually) the swirl control (red plug) on the frontier, wich i believe is the butterfly mod, if this is not and i actually have to switch the lines as explained in other thread please let me know because i figured out that runing with the lines as original and the swirl control unplugged would be the same.

now regarding the topic, iam from venezuela and i dont really think there are straight mufflers here or anything like it, dont actually know what they are.

iam looking forward to put a 2.5" exhaust but the thing is: what muffler? no muffler? whats a straight muffler, can anyone give me pictures of what youve done with yours.
i read on a earlier post, 2.5 straight pipe, some people agreed somepeople disagreed. that seems an affordable option, would you recommend it? what if its too loud? should i set a muffler then ? please help me out.

regards

plenty on The Navara Forum about it.

2.5" keeps it quiet. you probably won't notice any more noise with a straight through muffler.

unplugging the swirl control is NOT the butterfly mod. you need to change the hoses around. there are TWO butterfly's. its the other one which is the main butterfly which works with the egr. the swirl valve is a little bit debatable and not critical to disable.
DO NOT go blocking hoses with ball bearings either !
