Hey Y'all, I'm new to the forum and I did search throughout to see if I could find an answer on the forum and didn't really see any answers so here I go with my first question.
I just bought a 2013 pro4x 6spd manual (so very excited about it) however while driving it home last night at about the 3 mile mark I noticed a rattling sound. Quite alarming. I texted the guy I bought it from and he said perhaps it was the bilsteins, but it doesn't just make noise when I am driving over bumps. To me it sounds more like some kind of exhaust rattling. The truck has an exhaust bypass valve kit installed (I have NO experience with the use of that mod) any thoughts? I am in the Los Angeles area too so if anyone has any awesome recommendations for quality honest shops that do great work I would love to know about them. Thanks!

I've had two clamps come apart on my '11. Easily fixed with an appropriate sized hose clamp. Just slide under your truck and give each heat shield a gentle wiggle. The clamp will look fine, but it will be broken right where the two halves meet.
Yeah all the little heat shields especially on the Y pipe break the clamps, But I heard the rattles basically stopped or just starting to move. I had it happen to most of mine but latter on in the live of the truck, +6yrs or so. Hose clamp was my fix also Shizzy, until I got the Gibson exhaust on there.

Being a 2013 in Cali I'd find that not to be your issue. By-pass exhaust valve on a V-6? I can't imagine why anybody would do this to one of these trucks, it would sound so horrible, and lose a lot of low end torque. I would start the truck and maybe have a friend or coworker rev it up and down a bit while your under the truck. Bet it's coming from that By-pass valve.

That's a strong possibility. Either way, I would think about having it removed. They tend to be a horrible cause of turbulence in the exhaust system and most leak. Loss of power and MPG when closed and most sound like junk when open, with no real power gain on a stock vehicle.

Yes get rid of the bypass, piece of junk. Best exhaust mod is to replace the "Y" pipe that connects the two sides together with a smoother flowing one.
