After installing my KnN Air Intake system I noticed a ticking noise. I only noticed because once i removed the old air intake alot of the plastic covered the front part of the engine. Now that everything is in the open with new Intake I notice a ticking at idle. Anyone else have similar issues or am I just be overly worried?

Thanks.

Dont think its anything to worry about. My Titan ticked when I got it. It still does a little but adding a grounding kit helped a lot.

And what exactly does this grounding kit do?

What it did for me was helped startup quicker. smoothed out the idle. Helped quiet the ticking. Smoother shifting through gears. Quicker throttle response. Even a slightly better MPG. By grounding out the different electrical systems you dont get interference from other systems on each other. If you have aftermarket audio equipment it will also help to keep your audio clean. Dont just take my word though there are tons of people out there that use these kits. I was a skeptic till I got a kit and tried it for myself.

Sounds interesting! How difficult is it to install? What does one of these kits cost?

Wow! It's hard to imagine that a few extra ground straps can have that much of an impact! $50.00 seems a bit steep though, I can see why you went with a group buy! I wonder if the Frontier has the same mounting positions, this may require further investigation! Thanks...

Geez! For that kind of money, I could buy the cable, connectors, crimper and heat shrink gun and build a couple dozen of them! 8O Hmm, now there's a thought...

I e-mailed the folks at Ative Tuning to see if they have a kit in the works for the Frontier, or if the Titan kit can be adapted for use in the Frontier. I'll let you know what I hear back!

At least they will know there is plenty of interest! We'll have to volunteer to be beta testers for their first production run!

Hey, guys.
If you really want these kits,I can make them at a reasonable cost. :p I can get the materials at a reasonable price if I buy parts in quantity. All I need to do is make a prototype on my truck.

I belong to another forum(other car). One of the members there, did this for the forum members. He made ground kits in three different colors.I would probably use one color...like a clear/silver or smoked grey to match all the colors of trucks.

Let me know....I will start making mine soon.
I'll keep you posted
