I need to do an engine swap in my 2000 Frontier V6.

Does it matter if my truck was manufactured 6/99 and the used engine I am looking at is a pre-4/99 engine?

I have noticed there is a difference when getting parts, either pre-4/99 or post-4/99.

Thank you,
Todd

any VG33E rear wheel drive engine will work. A '96 Pathfinder VG would be just fine. Any Xterra, Frontier, Pathfinder 1996-2004 w/VG33E

Thank you very much for your response!

Do you have any idea what the difference is?
I know some of the things that changed were the exhaust manifolds and catalytic converters. Also, some VG33 engines had EGR valves with a passage pipe to the driver's side exhaust manifold and some did not.

I purchased a used engine, but the power steering pump and alternator are on the opposite side versus the original.

Can the brackets be swapped to the other sides?

Update:
I was able to put the alternator bracket on the new engine to keep the alternator on the driver's side. I will try the passenger side this weekend to be able to mount the power steering pump in the original location(passenger side).
