Hey guys, my '04 Fronty V6 has been missing occasionally when at idle. I have tried fuel injector cleaners, replaced ignition hardware...etc. Never resolved it, but within the last week its getting worse. Like tonight, while the truck is under load going up a hill @ 55 mph it is missing. Never done that before.

Any ideas? This old girl has 289,000 on it and served me well, and I would like to push it to 300,000 miles. Just need a little more life out of it.

Thanks!!

Sounds like a secondary ignition problem. Injector cleaner won't fix a miss. I doubt that the state of your exhaust will effect it. Have you checked for codes? Cam sensor? Crank sensor? But this is like trying to fix a car over the phone. Good luck.

I just went through diagnosing a misfire on No. 6 cylinder. Turned out to be a bad injector. I would check the resistance of your injectors. If you have non super charged 3.3L the No. 1,3 and 5 cylinders are easily accessible and would take 2min to check.
