billybob had to replace his throttle body and 06footy traded in his under partly the same conditions. Now mine is acting up.

So today, my belts kept squeaking after a little bit so I left the engine running and sprayed that ***** down inside with just water. THe water was probably luke warm in temperature. I turned it off and went on in to work. I went on to crank it up a few hours later and had check engine light and slip light on. I ran the codes and got 10 different codes. 2119 being one of them, which is TAC Throttle BOdy performance/ range description. One more was throttle body related and the rest were all related to pedal position sensor.

My boss told me to unhook battery and let it reset the position sensor. I did so, and it wiped the codes and the truck ran fine. Up until then I would give it gas and nothing. For a while it had no power on the pedal, then it would rev up to 2500 rpms and you would get barely any power out of the truck. When it reset everything was great; she ran fine. After this point I turned the truck off and cleaned the interior. When I was done and cranked it up to reset my radio the lights were back on. I ran diagnostic again and came back only with the 2119 code, the TAC throttle body performance/range. Tomorrow I'm going to do a 3-step chemical treatment on the fuel injectors, throttle body, butterfly, etc. Any other ideas what this could lead to, guys? Or is the 3-step a likely fix?

I did a hard-reset found in the forums here. The 2seconds on ON posi, 10seconds on off, repeat x3. No go. I keep having to reset it out of limpmode so I'm going to park it til I got another idea. I really dont want to have to get another throttle body but that seems what is to happen...

did you get water in the electrical connector to the throttle body? Take it apart, blow it out with compressed air and apply dielectric grease to connector pins and reassemble, see if that stops it.

No there is no clicking. When I reset all the codes it runs fine, when it's in limp mode alls you get is pedal to the floor with very little rpm gain that stops at like 2500 and you hear inaudible engine reving.

I'll have to try that out Brutal, for sure. After which I assume I need to run the throttle position hard-reset? I did push it open and such with my fingers when I attempted a clean so I can only assume it is out of sync ya?

with fly by wire throttle bodies, there are multiple throttle postion tracks for it to read. If they do not read the same exactly the ECU runs in limp home. the most likely cause is poor connection in the elctrical circuit which is why should never spray the engine with water unless you know what area to stay away from..TPS,MAFS, etc, pretty much all the sensor connections. Even though theyre weather pack style connectors, theyre still suseptable to moisture issues.

Ima do just what you said tomorrow. I was talking with Shiner about it and it dawned on me: Once I clear the code and get the truck running, the conditions and codes never re-appear during normal driving. THey only re-appear once the truck has been shut off and started back up, so it seems to me that it's related to when the vehicle is first establishing a connection which I think further backs your idea of water, possibly built up filth, in the connections. Ima rip into this joker tomorrow at work.

the fact that it only happens the second startup meens the ecu is looking for a 2nd occurance before it sets a CEL. And since it does this every time, you have a hard fault

We did this trick today. Did not work. I took the connector off and blew out a TON of dust, was sure it was going to work. Did the di electrical degrease. I'm in the same situation, no worse no better. I'm going to try and con the dealer into replacing it, saying I went down a rainy road to see my girlfriend. Hopefully they'll buy it, I have 100k bumper to bumper so maybe I will luck out. Any other ideas before I take this plunge?

I wouldnt say crap if youre under warranty. They do fail under normal situations. I replace 1 to 2 a month on Jaguars for that same issue

I'll just run the truck through the wash, the inside is sparkling clean atm, and I'll say it failed on me one day. If they ask if I go offroad - Nope, street machines
