Does anyone know which side is the shorter axle shaft? Driver or passenger? And even better does anyone know the length of each one?

Can't remember which side is the shorter but I thought it was the driver's side?
Short shaft = 30.5" from flange (wheel mounting surface)
Long = 31 3/8" from flange

Need any other measurements?

Awesome thanks! Can you give me one measurement from end of shaft to the bottom of bearing? I'm getting 26 1/4

To the bottom of the bearing or the swedge ring?
To the inside edge of the bearing I get
short = 26 7/8
long = 27 11/16

To the inside of the swedge ring I get
short = 26 5/16
long = 27 1/8

Subtract 1/16 from each if you want the inside edge of the snap ring land instead of the swedge ring. That would give you your 26 1/4, 27 1/16

Just the shaft up to the ring

Do you know if that bearing changes over the years? Or if the m226 always used the same bearing
