so in the install instructions it says that you need to lift the engine ?
also is says you need rtv silicone for the list of tools but never says where to use it at

just installed a set yesterday on a buddies truck , he bought new oem header gaskets and we were able to get the old ones out and new in without lifting the engine

just curious why they say to use the silicone along with lifting the engine ?

install took about 9 hrs but this included spindle lift, coilovers and goin back and forth to the hardware store for some new lower shock bolts

oh the only leak when we were done and that was on the exhaust towards the back

maybe they were talking about a gasket with the exhaust. but you dont use rtv on exhaust. if you did have to lift the engine even still, there isnt much you would have to disconnect.

maybe the directions are messed up.

lol i hate the exhaust. the crappy star bolts. the with the nuts you loosen before you touch the star then unloosen to put back on to tighten to loose again.

did you take inner fenders off? thats how i go to mine off easyish.

I would say that the directions are kind of generic since most header installs say to lift the motor to help get at the bolts. Also, there are some special RTVs that can be used on exhaust systems but it was most likely stated to be used as a quick adhesive to hold the gaskets in place while you are lining everything up.
