other then the dealer not sure... but i would personally opt for a spray in... with the drop in liners you have to worry about rusting out the bed.... if my truck didnt come with the drop in from the dealer i would have gone with the spray in... (infact, im still going to go with the spray in, just waiting on the cash....)

I would argue all day long that drop in's are WAY better than spray ins.

First off before applying the spray in they will grind all of your paint down to the bare metal in the bed, then once it's on you can NEVER take it off.

Secondly you have nowhere near the protection against dents as a drop in...a drop in can provide as much as 4x the dent protection.

The Spray in will eventually fade due to exposure to UV unless you have a UV protectant sprayed in every year.

The drop in will only rust if you go with a cheapie or one that does not fit properly, and what happens is that if its not properly fitted it will vibrate causing the paint to scratch and any moisture trapped will cause rust. Again....only an issue if you go with a cheap drop in.

answered your agruments in dark red....... not trying to agrue with you just giving facts.

10 years of running a nissan bed liner in my 00 KC DR and there are a couple places where the paint is worn, but not thru.
I pull it out every few years and clean under it.
I have no complaints on my nissan factory liner other than the bed rail caps are coming unglued.

My Line X three years later has not faded a bit. I've seen the trucks with no bed floor because they had a drop in liner, screw that. I'll say I think that a drop in may be better at taking a hit but a spray in doesn't scratch.

the 88 hardbody i jus got has the last 6-8in of bed rusted all but out and the seams around the edges of the bed aint much better and spray-in can be redone and its not necissary to take it down to bare metal ive worked in a body shop that did spray-in and they just sanded it like you would for a paint job

Liner slide

The liner definitely offers good protection, but stuff does get underneath it and it does wear away the paint in the bed. It probably doesn't look rusty since the constant rubbing doesn't allow the rust to cake up on the surface. My biggest complaint with the drop-in liner has always been that stuff slides around a ton. I've pulled the liner and put in a Herculiner or a spray on within the first couple weeks of purchasing every truck I've owned. Never had a problem with it. I'd never go back. You always have the option of dropping the liner in over the bed coating if you have a dire need to do so.
