Here is what I have done to my Frontier so far.

1. Removed bed extender.
2. Installed an Access bed mat.
3. Installed weathertech inchannel window vents.
4. Had windows tinted.
5. Had nerf bars installed.
6. Installed brake controller.
7. Installed dash cam.
8. Removed rear seat headrests for better visibility.
9. Removed tailgate spoiler/cap.
10. Installed carpet on tailgate.
11. Had an ARE tonneau cover installed.
12. And lastly bought a drivers side mirror and and put it over passenger side mirror. I have done this to all my trucks by the way. Why would I do this you ask, I'll tell you, to eliminate that stupid optical illusion.
I think I have one sharp looking truck, but then I might be a little prejudice. ::laugh::

What did you put in it's place?
I went to remove mine since it just gets all scraped up sliding
stuff in and dragging it back out of the bed. I wanted to get
the edge of the gate sprayed with bed liner but there were a series
of rectangular holes along the edge of the gate. I told the bedliner
guy to put a couple layers of that clear sheeting they use to
protect fenders over the holes and spray it, but he said the liner
wouldn't stick.

Haven't decided what to do with it yet.

How come I don't see your sharp looking truck anywhere (pics please)?

There is a simple rounded over aftermarket replacement cover to replace the OEM 'spoiler'. The folks who ordered/installed my ARE topper replaced mine, so the part is out there. Try a local topper/tonneau dealer?

How do you like the ARE tonneau?
Does the tailgate spoiler/cap have to come off to accept the tonneau cover?
I am going one day this week to order a tonneau cover, ARE or Jason. I had the Jason on my 2004 Titan for 13 years.

Sorry it's taken so long to reply but I just got back from vacation. I have had ARE tonneau covers on my last 3 trucks and as far as I'm concerned, they are the best. Yes you have to remove the tailgate spoiler.
