Does anyone know if a bad purge control solenoid valve on my charcoal canister would cause me to chug more gas? Is it worth fixing? It's only function is to send gas vapours to the intake to be burned up during normal operation.I can't see how that would affect gas consumption. I have looked everywhere on this topic and have found mixed reviews. What do you Nissan guru's think. Thanks

No, it's an emissions thing. I bypassed it on my old car and saw no noticeable difference in fuel consumption. You can pretty much eliminate the carbon/charcoal canister if you want. I routed my gas vapor line directly back into the intake and saw no ill effects.
