I'm just wondering what everyone else does. I wash both my truck and my wife's car almost every week. Nothing fancy, just car wash soap and water. Clean the wheels and tires. Clean the interior a couple of a year.

At my Upstate house that I built, I even have a hot water hose connection in the front for washing in winter.

During the winter, no. During the summer, about 1/4 of the time I hand wash. The gas station next to my work is brand new with a brand new was that allows you the option of touchless or not so I wash it most times I fill my tank. I have no shade to wash my truck in my driveway until late in the evening during the summer, so, as much as I want to hand wash, it many times doesn't fit in my schedule.

No, I have an unlimited plan at the car wash, in the winter it gets done a few times a week.

PTSD sucks.

I'm either too cheap to pay for something I can do myself. Or it's that I don't like driving somewhere, waiting for someone to get to my car, and wait for it to be cleaned, and have to deal with people. BOTH, more the second run on sentence I believe
No, I'd rather just wash it myself, and not have to wait, and deal with people.

One of my passions (or slight OCD) is keeping my vehicles clean. I typically do light wash weekly and twice per year hit our vehicles (and parents) with the Porter Cable/Riot Garage polishers and pressure wash the engines. Jan/Feb I like to experiment with different products but lately been using Chemical Guys stuff and Mequiars.

These chemicals are not as harsh as some of I used previously for paint correction and most know Nissan paint is very soft comparable to other vehicle - with our FL sun, oxidation occurs quite often if neglected for more than 6 months. I rarely need to use my rotary polisher.

I used to run a Detailing shop at an auto auction when I was a kid and it has stuck with me since. It was an assembly line focusing on speed/accuracy pressure washing, buffing, & interior cleaning ready for the auction sale.

A couple of pics of my cart and towels.

During the winter its a drive-thru for the undercarrige blast (horrible, hateful salt!) during the summer I hand wash, & pressure wash the underside myself.... the U-sprays don't like it when you pull up caked in dirt/mud.... they tend to come at you with torches & pitchforks....

Hand wash only w/car wash soap, chamois dry. Usually only occasional pressure wash in winter months, no touchy touchy. My current system is Meguiars m21 sealant spring & fall, Clay bar and Megs 205 polish in spring. All with the help of my Griots Garage orbital polisher. My truck looks as good as new with 3.5 yrs and 35k under her belt. Just got done clay baring and sealing the wheels and door jambs. I have a lil extra time.. I also have the rare talent of actually being able to Polish Turds!!!

If I washed my own truck in my driveway even with a shutoff nozzle I can guarantee you that some sensitive pansy driving by would stop and be offended by what I was doing and that's where the drama will start. Gotta love Southern California :) LOL
