Pinion bearing went out on my 2009 Frontier. The auto parts stores all said I had an M226 diff. I bought a new ring and pinion 3.36 and it was to big. I realized that mine correlated more with a M205 ring size. Mine’s only 8inches across. Trying to figure this all out has been a real pain. Was this a rarity to have such a small ring diameter in the rear diff?

I agree; it's possible you have the C200K axles. What's the axle code on the sticker inside your driver's door jamb?

Thst is the differential I bought by mistake.
The 3:69 gears threw me. I assumed it was a m226.
Will give you a good deal if interested.

I've come to realize that I do in fact have the C200K rear end with the 3.36 ratio. I am looking for parts to rebuild which have been near impossible to find. If anyone has a ring and pinion set that would fit at a good price I may be interested.

They tend to be tough to find parts for. Ring & pinion from Nissan will cost you around $800-900. A salvage yard will want to sell the whole axle assembly (which isn't necessarily a bad way to go) for $1500-2000-ish, unless you can score one at a pick-a-part yard and pull it yourself. I don't believe you're going to find too many aftermarket parts for it.
