I was just wondering for the guys with aftermarket head units, what dash kits do you use in your frontier? I decided to just go with a single din, and am really trying to find one that looks good.

The only one I have found is one from crutchfield, and it doesn't even look like it would have a decent fit.

So if you don't mind if you're using a dash kit for a single din could you post a picture of it and what kind/ where you got it?

Thanks.

I've got a pic of the Metra in my gallery. My only complaint is that in bright light (ie any sunny day), you can tell that the black color of the metra is slightly different than the tray above it. You have to look close, but you can tell. I'm considering painting them both to try to fix that issue. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Old thread I know, but I found it searching for kit photos so I figured I would contribute in case someone else finds it searching around.

I purchased my truck used and the previous owner had already installed a Kenwood single-din deck that wouldn't load a CD; therefore, I ordered a replacement Pioneer from Crutchfield and received a Metra kit (99-7417) with it for free. Instead of using the old dash kit I installed it with the new Metra and I'll have to say, I think I'm going to pull it back out and use his kit because I think it looked better. With his older kit the unit sits completely against the dash; with the Metra my pioneer unit is recessed a lot... I guess it would be personal preference, but having it flush the knob and buttons are easier to access and the gaps of the Metra kit are nearly eliminated.

Attached a pic I took of the old kit with the broken Kenwood for comparison. It is American International brand, part number: NDK-717. Some websites state that it has been discontinued, but Amazon still has a few left in stock. What do you guys think about it?

I went with the single dun since I couldn't find a double that I liked. But i got mine installed by a local audio shop in Melbourne FL. As of now, I am trying to draw up a switch panel that I can put in that extra single space, since I don't use it for anything else.

^ agreed, I went this route:

GSW-45 rocker (available lighted or without). I purchased one of these to use with my light bar and it fits in the factory blanks with slight modification: There is a small "tab" behind the blanks that keeps the hole from being completely rectangular so I used a file to shave the plastic tab off so that the hole was completely rectangular which allows the switch to snap right into the hole. I purchased my non-lighted GSW-45 from amazon since I'm a prime member, link follows:
