Turned on my truck to hear a loud squeaking. Just had the belts changed so I decided to take a look. It seems that the belt tensioner that attaches to the alternator was missing a bolt. was able to replace it but now I have no idea how to use this mechanism. I followed Chilton repair guide but it is rather vague regarding this part. With the bolts tightened the sound persists and I can tell the belt is loose. This again is for a 93 D21 hard body with KA24e single cam.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

look at your d22 should have a similar set up.

anywhoo... flip that rectangular piece with a hole, so that's its facing the slot on that black bracket. Then insert a bolt through the alternator into the hole of the rectangular piece.

Hope it helps.

heres a pic of the ka24de frontier version..

look closely at the alt... looks similar to yours

Thanks, figured it out. I had a 1st gen Frontier but now I have a WRX :)
I had to find new bolts and loosen the bottom pivot bolt on the alt. Crossed referenced pics of my ka in my old 240.
