Cruise Control Set Light Error

4399 Views 2 Replies 3 Participants Last post by  Browning
I'm leaving to go on a long trip in 2 days-I get in my truck yesterday and the cruise control set light is blinking. The manual says that means there is a problem in the cruise control system and take it to the stealership.

I generally try to fix things on my own when I can, however, this sounds like it is going to require a Nissan specific computer/scan tool?

I'm searching the threads as we speak but was wondering if anyone can shed light on how to reset it and see if that takes care of it. The truck was running in park with my dogs in it when it happened. I can't imagine what they could've done to trip the light-they've been riding in it for years with no problems?

Also, on a side note-the DTE (distance to empty) calculator has been acting up. Despite the gauge showing the correct level of gas, the DTE is showing way less miles than it should-I'm guessing sending unit but thought I'd gather opinions.

For the record-2005 NISMO Crew Cab 4x4. 78,000. PRG 2" front/1.5" rear, Bilsteins, GPS in dash, axle vent mod, K&N, and some other things.

Only repairs have been axle seal (vent modded now) and I just did the belt tensioner.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

If you don't have an OBD reset tool, like a scan guage, try to reset the ECU by disconnecting the negative terminal for a few hours , then re-connect it and see if it removed the problem.

on the negative terminal disconnect, you are talking about on the battery right?
