So my truck died on me the other day, it cranks but no start. I ran a few tests and found no spark at the wires. From what ive read so far is that the distributor is more than likely the culprit.

Yesterday i came across a youtube vid that showed if you crank the engine with the distributor cap off and the rotor doesnt spin then that means you have a bad TB. Is there any validity to this claim?

I dont want to waste money on a new distributor if its the TB. I did the test and the rotor didnt spin, ive also taken out the distributor to see if the bearing seized, its not seized up but it hits some rough patches when you turn it.

Any help would be much appreciated:)

So can anyone confirm this? Is there a way to bench test the distributor? Im on a time crunch and want to get the parts ordered. I did see one post on the timing belt sticky and its kinda confirming my suspicions but just wanted to know for sure.

Thanks?
