i know this might be a simple question that i should probally know. but should the coolent level in the radiator be all the way to the top when its cold? or does is fill up from that other tank when it warms up?
truck is not running any hotter than it ever has but the level is a bit lower then the top.

It should be at the top; i.e. you should be able to plainly see coolant when you remove the radiator cap. Is your reservior filled to the correct level?
