Hi all,

I've got a 2003 Frontier 4cyl manual. Has 130,000 (top that!). I've been noticing a weird metalish noise and think it might be the clutch. Any help in diagnosing this is greatly appreciated!

The problem occurs at stable speeds (whether it be a constant 70--the most usual speed it happens at, or at 30) and occasionally upon normal acceleration. Doesn't matter what gear I'm in.

I feel just a bit of a burst of power (like the truck lost power for a split second and then regained it) and along with that simultaneously with regained power there's a clanking noise. It's just one clank, like two pieces of metal hitting each other once.

I'm not sure if I'm actually losing power or not, I can't detect a power loss. I can only feel that I've now got more power than I just had.

Any ideas?
