Saw this last night... ugh. Is this a blowout ready to happen? How does the dealer handle the tire warranty?

That would be a road hazard warranty if you have road hazard protection.

And as far as blowout, those typically happen from sidewall damage but it depends if there is any deeper penetration than just the visible.

The spare is the same tire, right, just mounted on a plain steel wheel? Maybe when I take it in for an oil change (1st one is free at the dealer, and I want to buy half a dozen filters at the same time) I will have them switch this tire with the spare.

if you offroad you will get a lot of those It's called "Rock Rash" it doesn't look bad.

Won't cause a blowout. I'd ignore it. I have worse than that on my MT's.

doesnt look too bad - but doesnt look taht good either. i had a 1" wide cut-out path all the way around my bfg's from being stuck in the snow - the tires eventually are wearing down so you can't notice it at all
