Hey all,
2001 SE 4x4 is experiencing a chirp and delay in engagement when accelerating from standing still. This usually only happens when I have been driving for a while and everything is warmed up, and it is especially prone to it after driving for a while on the highway and coming to a stop, and then accelerating. I'm really hoping its just u-joints or I just need new transfer fluid(I'm going to do that soon and I just did the differential). If anyone has any insight as to what this could be please let me know.

Just make sure you had the "Limited Slip Drive Additive" In yours. I have read that not all gear oils have enough. My wifes 03 Mustang requires additional, even though it's already in Valvoline. I'm also betting that the more wear you have, the more you might need. Good luck.

I used Castrol Axle Limited Slip 80W-90 Gear Oil, but that's interesting, I never thought of it needing more LS fluid. I'll look into it once I see what other people are saying about my problem.
